Many thanks to all the speakers and visitors who came to our 30th Anniversary Celebration event last Saturday. We counted around 100 people there over the day and the speakers were excellent and informative from start to finish. For those who missed it, all the talks can be seen below.
Saturday, 22nd October, is our 30th Anniversary celebration and conference in the Old Kirk in Kirkcaldy. It’s shaping up to be a great day, with over 80 advance registrations so far to hear some of the best speakers from across Scotland on Pictish art and archaeology.
SWACS are pleased to remember Marilyn Jenkins, one of the Society’s stalwarts who passed on last year (5th October), with the installation of a bench for the community on the shore front just behind St Mary’s by the Sea, East Wemyss. Marilyn had been with the Society since its inception
Many thanks to everyone who came along to last night’s public meeting about vandalism in the caves, which was well-attended and extremely positive. Lots of ideas were put forward for what we can do immediately, and longer term, to protect the caves for generations to come. Thanks to Peter Grant
