It’s been quite a wait, but at last we are able to share the carbon-dating results for the bones found by our site warden Stuart back in December 2023. It turns out that both individuals — the skull and the full skeleton — date to around 750–800 BCE, i.e. early Iron Age. This makes it a very rare find indeed! We will learn a great deal more from the isotopic analyses and of course will be sharing those results with you as soon as we can.
