SWACS members were gathered last week investigating the gun platform that sits above the Caves. Despite the mid-week weather taking a turn was a very interesting week.

The battery was inaugurated on Saturday 9 February 1861. It is thought there were platforms put in place for 3 firing guns but today the later First World War concrete platform is what remains.
