This 48-page booklet was published by the Wemyss Environmental Education Centre in 1991. Illustrated with twenty-five reproductions of old photographs, it describes life in West Wemyss during the reign of Queen Victoria, with sections on Population, Homes and Services, Clothes, Industry, Food and Shops, Leisure,  and Transport. There are fascinating extracts from the School Log Books from 1874 -1896, the last entry recording the opening of the Dorothy School in that year.  Extracts from the Fife Trades Directory 1886 record the names and occupations of around forty trades people of the village. There is also a map to guide readers on a trail round notable features of the village.
