Bagster’s Comprehensive Bible
This 19th century Bagster’s Comprehensive Bible is one of SWACS’ more enigmatic historical holdings. As the origins are unclear we would be interested to hear from anyone has any idea regarding its provenance. It may be a relict of West Wemyss Primary School which replaced Wemyss Colliery School (built c.1859).
30th Anniversary Conference
Many thanks to all the speakers and visitors who came to our 30th Anniversary Celebration event last Saturday. We counted around 100 people there over the day and the speakers were excellent and informative from start to finish. For those who missed it, all the talks can be seen below.
30th Anniversary celebration and conference
Saturday, 22nd October, is our 30th Anniversary celebration and conference in the Old Kirk in Kirkcaldy. It’s shaping up to be a great day, with over 80 advance registrations so far to hear some of the best speakers from across Scotland on Pictish art and archaeology.
Remembering Marilyn Jenkins

Vandalism in Jonathan’s Cave
Very regrettably we have to report that Jonathan’s Cave was targeted some time last week by vandals who used spray cans to draw graffiti both outside the cave and inside on areas containing Pictish carvings.
