Happy New Year to everyone from SWACS. It’s going to be an exciting time for us because at the end of last year we signed a lease with the Wemyss Estate for the Terras Hall on The Haugh in East Wemyss, recently vacated by the Guides. We’ll announce more details of our plans very soon but the hall will become SWACS’ new base with a visitors centre and museum, opening every weekend from April to October.
There is a lot of work to do to be ready to open in a few months time and volunteers have already started work on repairs and improvements to the hall and its surroundings in order to enhance its accessibility and general appearance. A major element of this work is the clearance of the vegetation and other material which surrounds the building and conceals the flowerbeds which the Guides used to maintain.
If you would like to help with this work, you will be very welcome to join our other volunteers at the Terras Hall any Tuesday from 10am to 1pm. No skill or experience necessary!
